Hi, I'm Kella-Marie, a qualified counsellor with over a decade of experience in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. My journey into the world of counselling began in an unexpected place – the construction department of a college where I worked as a lecturer. As I interacted with my students, I noticed that many of them, especially the men, were grappling with emotional challenges such as depression and anxiety.
Determined to make a difference, I retrained as a counsellor, eager to provide the support and guidance my students so desperately needed. I started my counselling career at the Somerset Counselling Centre, where I worked as a psychodynamic counsellor from 2013 to 2015. During this time, I also had the privilege of serving as a council member for the Taunton Association for Psychotherapy, engaging with leading experts in the field and facilitating thought-provoking discussions at conferences.
As I gained more experience, I had the opportunity to work with Mind in 2015, facilitating psychoeducation and group therapy sessions. This experience deepened my understanding of the diverse needs of individuals seeking mental health support and reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate, personalised care.
In 2016, I established my private practice, offering both short-term and long-term counselling to individuals from all walks of life. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with clients from all over the world, and from various backgrounds, nationalities, cultures, and communities, including expatriates and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
From 2018 to 2024, I took on the role of a Specialised Support Counsellor for an international health company. As a Senior Counsellor, I provided short-term solution-focused therapy and crisis intervention to individuals and companies worldwide, honing my skills in delivering targeted, effective support.
Today, alongside my private practice, I also offer clinical supervision to therapists, mental health professionals, and managers, creating a structured space for them to engage in reflective practice and personal growth.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to providing a warm, supportive space where individuals can feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life's challenges. By drawing from various therapeutic models and tailoring my approach to each client's unique needs, I strive to facilitate a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth.
